Experimental methods in chemical engineering: Cyclic voltammetry—CV

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 11, Page 5776-5827, November 2026.
Abstract Cyclic voltammetry (CV) is a foundational electroanalytical technique for investigating redox behaviour and evaluating material performance across fields such as molecular electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, sensing, and energy storage. Despite its widespread use, a gap remains between formal electrochemical theory and the practical data ...

Influence of Site Amplification Approaches in PSRA: Insights From Five Different Cities

open access: yesEarthquake Spectra, Volume 42, Issue 4, November 2026.
Regional and national seismic hazard models used in probabilistic seismic risk analysis often rely on generalized proxy‐based site terms to account for ground shaking amplification. This can result in coarse representations of site response, which can introduce bias or additional uncertainty in the associated risk results.

Brain‐Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), Estrogen Receptors, and Mossy Cells

open access: yesHippocampus, Volume 36, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Dentate gyrus (DG) function depends on the neurotrophin brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) which shows robust synthesis in the principal cells, the granule cells (GCs). However, BDNF protein is present in the inner molecular layer (IML), where most afferents to GCs are from hilar mossy cells (MCs). Therefore, we asked whether MCs express

Competition and soil conditions limit the growth of High Arctic non‐native plants

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2026, Issue 11, November 2026.
Non‐native vascular plant species in the High Arctic are currently restricted mainly to settlements and other anthropogenically disturbed areas. The reasons for this remain unclear, but climate or dispersal do not appear to be the main limiting factors. Instead, biotic interactions combined with soil conditions may play important roles.

An interdisciplinary perspective on the interpretation of legal‐scientific concepts in rights‐of‐nature initiatives

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 8, Issue 11, Page 3945-3962, November 2026.
Abstract Despite an ever‐growing body of environmental laws, biodiversity loss and climate breakdown persist globally. This has prompted debate over whether existing legal regimes can be strengthened sufficiently to address these crises, or whether more transformative legal approaches are needed The concept of rights of nature, which is gaining ...
