Abstract Mixed‐phase clouds modulate the water and energy cycles of high‐latitude regions, yet their liquid‐ice phase partitioning has long been poorly simulated in climate models. Here, simulations of Arctic mixed‐phase clouds by the Simple Cloud‐Resolving E3SM Atmosphere Model (SCREAM) are assessed against large‐eddy simulations, satellite data, and ...

Prediction of European Winter 2023/24: Influence of a Strong El Niño
The UK winter seasonal outlook for 2023/24 gave good guidance with increased chances of mild, wet and windy conditions, particularly in early winter, which verified well when compared with observations. December was particularly stormy. Our analysis suggests the key driver was the well forecast, strong El Niño event, with the late winter European ...

We use for the first time whole‐genome sequencing to explore current and historical patterns of genetic diversity in European hake in the Northeastern Atlantic, focusing on the recently expanded distribution range in the North Sea. Genomic data revealed a complex scenario with three populations: North Sea, Celtic Sea and Portugal.

Dispersed sedimentary matter of the Barents sea
The results of the study of the distribution and composition of the dispersed sedimentary matter (suspended matter) in the water column of the Barents Sea were presented in the article. The distribution of suspended matter in the sea obeys the laws of circumcontinental (for surface distribution) and vertical zonality.

Evolution and Provenance of the Polish Rotliegend in the Southern Permian Basin
Abstract The Southern Permian Basin (SPB) has been extensively explored for ore deposits. However, a comprehensive evaluation of the remaining copper potential, specifically for sediment‐hosted stratiform copper system, remains lacking. This study applies goSPL, an open‐source landscape and stratigraphic evolution model, to reconstruct the Permian rift‐

Change of heat advection to the Barents sea
At the present day flux of warm Atlantic waters into the Barents Sea influences on the change in the area of its ice cover. This paper estimates and analyzes the advective heat flux coming through a meridional section along 16.5° Еto the basin of the ...
