Chemical peculiarities of the Silurian–Ordovician and Cambrian–Vendian aquifer systems in Estonia: an overview of hydrochemical studies [PDF]

open access: yesEstonian Journal of Earth Sciences, 2009
The chemical composition of groundwater was studied and plausible reasons for its peculiarities were evaluated on the basis of long-term groundwater monitoring data.

catena-Poly[barium(II)-μ2-(dimethyl sulfoxide)-κ2O:O-bis(μ2-2,4,6-trinitrophenolato-κ4O2,O1:O1,O6)]

open access: yesIUCrData, 2020
The asymmetric unit of the title barium coordination polymer, [Ba(C6H2N3O7)2(C2H6OS)]n, consists of a barium cation (site symmetry m) and a dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) ligand (point group symmetry m) and a 2,4,6-trinitrophenolate anion located in general ...

NOx Reduction Pathways during LNT Operation over Ceria Containing Catalysts: Effect of Copper Presence and Barium Content

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Ceria-based catalysts, with Cu in substitution of noble metals, were studied in a vertical microreactor system under isothermal conditions, where NOx was previously stored, followed by the reduction step conducted under H2.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Simulating cold atomic hydrogen production in linear radiofrequency ion traps

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
We simulated the motion of ${\mathrm{BaH^{+}}}$ molecular ions which are sympathetically cooled by laser-cooled ${\mathrm{Ba^{+}}}$ ions in linear quadrupole and octupole radiofrequency (RF) ion traps.

History of Los Alamos Participation in Active Experiments in Space

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2018
Los Alamos has a long history of participation in active experiments in space beginning with the Teak nuclear test in 1958. Above-ground nuclear testing stopped in 1962 because of the Partial Test Ban Treaty, and a program of non-nuclear chemical release

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
