Femtosecond temporal encoding in barium titanate

Optics Letters, 1991
We describe two-beam coupling and temporal encoding experiments in barium titanate. Volume gratings are created in the photorefractive material by 50-fs optical pulses. Information in the writing pulses may be encoded as spatially distributed volume gratings in the crystal. Femtosecond temporal waveform reconstruction is demonstrated.

Laser‐Sintered Barium Titanate

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1989
Laser sintering of alkoxy‐derived ultrafine BaTiO 3 powders was investigated. The temperature increases of the sample with laser irradiation were measured with a thermocouple. It was found that laser irradiation could generate enough heat to sinter ceramics. A slurry was prepared by mixing an

Lattice Constants and Dielectric Properties of Barium Titanate—Barium Stannate—Strontium Titanate Bodies

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1952
Lattice constants and temperatures corresponding to maximum dielectric permittivity were investigated for compositions in the barium titanate‐rich portion of the system barium titanate–barium stannate–strontium titanate. Substitution of tin for titanium increases the lattice constant at room temperature, and substitution of strontium for barium ...

Elastic anomalies of barium titanate

Journal of Applied Physics, 1993
The anomalies of the second-, third-, and fourth-order elastic constants have been derived for barium titanate and related compounds for the phase transition from cubic to tetragonal and from the tetragonal to the orthorhombic phases. The equilibrium values of the three components of the order parameter and the strain variables in the two phases have ...

Computer modelling of barium titanate

Radiation Effects, 1983
Abstract Barium titanate is an important material for both scientific and industrial applications. Much of the interest centres around its ferroelectric properties, since it is structurally the most simple in this class. In addition rare-earth doped ceramics are found to exhibit a very steep positive temperature coefficient of resistance (PTCR) above ...

Photosensitive barium titanate Schottky diodes

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1968
The observation of photocurrents generated in Schottky barrier diodes on Remeika-grown reduced barium titanate is reported. Photon-to-electron conversion efficiencies of 5% at 0.3 μm have been measured which suggests that the effect may be large enough for employment in practical devices.
