Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Storm surge barrier performance—The effect of barrier failures on extreme water level frequencies
Sea level rise necessitates the upgrade of coastal flood protection including storm surge barriers. These large movable hydraulic structures are open in normal conditions, but close during a storm surge to prevent coastal floods in bays and estuaries ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Creation and detection of a mesoscopic gas in a non-local quantum superposition
We investigate the scattering of a quantum matter wave soliton on a barrier in a one dimensional geometry and we show that it can lead to mesoscopic Schr\"odinger cat states, where the atomic gas is in a coherent superposition of being in the half-space ...

Inverse barrier methods for linear programming [PDF]
Summary: In the recent interior point methods for linear programming much attention has been given to the logarithmic barrier method. In this paper, we analyze the class of inverse barrier methods for linear programming, in which the barrier is \(\sum x^{- r}_i\), where \(r> 0\) is the rank of the barrier.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Correcting Inconsistency in Linear Inequalities by Minimal Change in the Right Hand Side Vector [PDF]
Correcting an inconsistent set of linear inequalities by minimal changes in problem data is a well studied problem and up to now several algorithms have been developed to do this task. In this paper, we consider doing the minimal correction using the l 2
