Microprocessor-based cardiopulmonary rate monitor
Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, 1987A portable microprocessor-based noninvasive cardiopulmonary heart rate monitor is described for use in situations in which direct contact with the subject is either impossible or undesirable. Low-power Doppler microwaves are employed to measure the chest movements associated with the expansion and contraction of the heart and the lung.

Activity‐Controlled Circadian Base Rate
Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 1998The current pacing rates are clustered around a fixed base rate since pacemaker patients are usually sedentary, resting, or sleeping most of the time. This fixed base rate is either too low for daytime hemodynamic support or too high for nighttime rest and recovery.

Ranking regional drowning mortality rates: population-based versus aquatic area-based rate
Injury Prevention, 2016Population, the most often used denominator in calculating drowning mortality rate, might not be a good measure of risk exposure. In this study, we sought to compare the rankings of township drowning mortality according to population-based rates with those according to aquatic area-based rates in Taitung County, Taiwan.

The Internal Ratings-Based Approach
2012Abstract This chapter discusses the internal ratings-based approach (IRB). The IRB permits a bank to use its internal models to derive risk weights for particular exposures. There are two available bases for the IRB: foundation (F-IRB), which permits the bank to model Probability of Default (PD), but relies on regulatory standard figures
