Bovine Granulosa Cells Produce Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor*
Endocrinology, 1987Cultured bovine granulosa cells express the gene encoding basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF). The bFGF gene is transcribed into 7.0- and 3.7-kilobase mRNA transcripts which are apparently translated into 16,000 mol wt bFGF-like growth factor. The granulosa cell-derived bFGF is bioactive, i.e.

[Basic fibroblast growth factor in leiomyoma].
Polski merkuriusz lekarski : organ Polskiego Towarzystwa Lekarskiego, 2005Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) is a potent stimulator of collagen and glycosaminoglycan biosynthesis and may play an important role in extracellular matrix (ECM) remodelling. Heparin sulphate was shown to be the major proteoglycan molecule in ECM of leiomyoma. It shows ability to bind some growth factors, including FGF.

AbstractAnchorage‐independent growth, i.e., growth in semi‐solid medium is considered a marker of cellular transformation of fibroblast cells. Diploid human fibroblasts ordinarily do not exhibit such growth but can grow transiently when medium contains high concentrations of fetal bovine serum.

Basic fibroblast growth factor and fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 in human meningiomas
Current Medical Science, 2005The expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 (FGFR-1) in human meningiomas and the relationships between their expression and the tumors' histological features and angiogenesis were investigated by means of immunohistochemical technique.

[Astrogliosis and basic fibroblast growth factor].
Zhonghua bing li xue za zhi = Chinese journal of pathology, 1999To study the relationship between reactive astrogliosis and its autocrine bFGF.On the primary astrocyte culture with mechanical scratch, the dynamic expression of bFGF, PCNA, GFAP and GFAP-mRNA were determined by immunocytochemistry and in situ hybridization.Astrocytes at the edge of the injury began to express bFGF 2 hours after scratching and reached

Basic fibroblast growth factor and hematopoiesis.
Leukemia, 1995Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF or FGF-2) is an angiogenic and pleiotropic factor involved in the proliferation and differentiation of numerous cell types. It is expressed mostly in tissues of mesoderm and neuroectoderm origin, and plays an important role in the mesoderm induction, together with transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta). Although
