Impact of Letermovir on Voriconazole Concentrations in Lung Transplant Patients

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
Concomitant letermovir was associated with lower voriconazole exposure and reduced attainment of commonly used efficacy thresholds in lung transplant recipients. Routine therapeutic drug monitoring after letermovir initiation is recommended, and empiric voriconazole dose escalation may be needed to avoid subtherapeutic exposure. ABSTRACT Background The

Early monitoring of the human polyomavirus BK replication and sequencing analysis in a cohort of adult kidney transplant patients treated with basiliximab

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2011
Background Nowadays, better immunosuppressors have decreased the rates of acute rejection in kidney transplantation, but have also led to the emergence of BKV-associated nephropathy (BKVAN). Therefore, we prospectively investigated BKV load in plasma and

Invasive Fungal Infections in Heart Transplants: A 10‐Year, Single Centre Retrospective Cohort Study From Subtropical Australia

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
In this 10‐year retrospective cohort study of heart transplant recipients in subtropical Australia, we characterize the incidence and microbiological profile of invasive fungal infections, highlighting the underappreciated burden of late‐onset and non‐Aspergillus mold infections and the potential underdiagnosis of polymicrobial disease.

Pharmacodynamic Analysis of Tofacitinib and Basiliximab in Kidney Allograft Recipients

open access: yes, 2012
Background. The common gamma-chain (gamma(c)) cytokines signal through the Janus kinase (JAK)-signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathway and play pivotal roles in lymphocyte activation. We investigated the effect of immunosuppressive

Serial Blood Microbiome Profiles in Kidney Transplant Recipients Reveal Evidence of Circulating Gut and Non‐Gut Derived Microbial DNA

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
In this prospective cohort study, we profiled the blood microbiome in kidney transplant recipients over time. We detected a low abundance of microbial DNA in half of the blood specimens. In a small subset, we also detected gut bacterial taxa in the blood of kidney transplant recipients.

Comparison of Infectious and Rejection Outcomes in Postkidney Transplant Recipients Based on Induction Therapy: A Retrospective Observational Study

open access: yesIndian Journal of Transplantation
Background: Renal transplantation is the preferred treatment for patients with end-stage renal disease. Induction immunosuppressive therapy, administered perioperatively, plays a crucial role in reducing acute rejection episodes. However, these therapies

Evaluating anti-thymocyte globulin induction doses for better allograft and patient survival in Asian kidney transplant recipients

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG) is currently the most widely prescribed induction regimen for preventing acute rejection after solid organ transplantation. However, the optimal dose of ATG induction regimen in Asian kidney recipients is unclear.

Pediatric Guillain‐Barré Syndrome Post Organ Transplant: Acute and Chronic Complication Requiring High Index of Suspicion

open access: yesPediatric Transplantation, Volume 30, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Guillain‐Barré syndrome (GBS) is an acute, immune‐mediated polyradiculoneuropathy most often triggered by infections such as Campylobacter jejuni, Epstein–Barr virus (EBV), or cytomegalovirus (CMV). Although transplant‐associated GBS is recognized in adults, it remains rare in pediatric recipients, and distinguishing immune‐mediated

Antiviral Resistance Associated With Multiple Mutations Occurring in Seasonal Influenza A(H3N2) Virus in a Patient Treated With Oseltamivir

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Our case highlights the importance of early diagnosis in respiratory illness and timely detection of drug resistance so that antiviral treatment can be initiated and modified, particularly for high‐risk groups. Vaccination and early, carefully dosed antiviral treatment are key to mitigating severe influenza cases, especially in ...
