Coronavirus phylogeny based on Base-Base Correlation
International Journal of Bioinformatics Research and Applications, 2008With more and more complete genome sequences having been released, phylogenetic analysis is entering a new era--that of phylogenomics. In this paper, a novel phylogenomic method, named as Base-Base Correlation (BBC), has been proposed to infer phylogenetic relationships from complete genomes, with particular emphasis on coronavirus phylogeny. Following

Rounding the bases with a secure base
Attachment & Human Development, 2016Parental availability and responsiveness were experimentally manipulated to determine the effects on children's athletic performance. Fifty children (3-12-year-olds) ran as fast as possible around a softball diamond twice: once while parents were available and responsive and once while parents were unavailable and unresponsive (engrossed in mobile ...

KNOWLEDGE-BASED OR KNOWER-BASED?
The Singapore Economic Review, 2001This paper analyses the concept of a knowledge-based society. It suggests that certain important features of a knowledge-based society are better understood by appealing to the notion of a knower-based society, and discusses some implications following from this.

bases for polynomial based spaces [PDF]
Since it is well-known that the Vandermonde matrix is ill-conditioned, this paper surveys the choices of other bases. These bases are data-dependent and are categorized into discretely $ell^2$-orthonormal and continuously $L^2$-orthonormal bases. The first one is defined via a decomposition of the Vandermonde matrix while the latter is given by a ...

Polyelectrolytes based on nitrogenous bases
Theoretical Foundations of Chemical Engineering, 2010The products of sol-gel synthesis involving tetraethoxysilane and the nitrogenous polybases poly(4-vinylpyridine), poly(2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine), poly(N-vinylimidazole), poly(N-vinylpyrazole), and poly(S-vinyl-2-mercaptobenzimidazole) are reported. The composition and properties of polyelectrolytes synthesized in alkali and neutral media are examined.

We study expansions in non-integer negative base ? β introduced by Ito and Sadahiro [7]. Using countable automata associated with ( ? β)-expansions, we characterize the case where the ( ? β)-shift is a system of finite type. We prove that, if β is a Pisot number, then the ( ? β)-shift is a sofic system.

The research base of community-based rehabilitation
Disability and Rehabilitation, 1999This paper provides an overview of the current research on community-based rehabilitation (CBR) which can be found in the public domain. A brief background to the concept of CBR is given, and it is shown how much of this published research reflects the fundamental principles of CBR service delivery, technology transfer, community involvement, and ...
