The Effect of Largemouth Bass Virus on Bass Populations in Kansas Impoundments

Journal of Aquatic Animal Health, 2022
Abstract Largemouth Bass virus (LMBV) first became a concern in Kansas when it was identified as a potential cause of decreased catch rates at Crawford State Fishing Lake in 2007. The discovery of LMBV in eight additional impoundments from 2008 to 2017 increased concern about the prevalence and effects of LMBV in Kansas. In response, the

Hormonal Sex Inversion in Striped Bass and White Bass × Striped Bass Hybrids

North American Journal of Aquaculture, 1999
Abstract The goal of the study was to determine the optimal androgen treatment to produce sex inversion in striped bass Morone saxatilis and white bass M. chrysops × striped bass hybrids. The androgen 17α-methyltestosterone (MT) was orally administered to fish with a dry diet or with nauplii of brine shrimp Artemia sp.

A contribution to Bass' conjecture

Journal of Group Theory, 2004
Let \(G\) be any group and \(k\) a subring of complex numbers that satisfies the condition \(k\cap\mathbb{Q}=\mathbb{Z}\). The Bass conjecture states that for any finitely generated projective \(kG\)-module \(P\) the Hattori-Stallings rank function \(r(P)\) vanishes on the conjugacy classes of non-identity elements.

NEPHROBLASTOMA IN A STRIPED BASS

Journal of Wildlife Diseases, 1971
A renal neoplasm with the pathologic characteristics of a nephroblastoma was found in a striped bass (Morone saxatilis) taken in Fisher's Island Sound, New York. The fish acted normally and seemed unaffected by the tumor.

Bass handbells of aluminum

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1995
In order to obtain a higher radiation efficiency and thereby enhance the sound of bass handbells, Malmark has created a new bell design using aluminum rather than the traditional bronze. These bells are larger in diameter, and they have lower coincidence frequencies, both of which lead to more efficient radiation of bass notes.

Perceptive Bass Deafness

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1960
Many investigators have thought for a long time that bass deafness could never be of a perceptive kind. If an audiogram revealed a hearing loss for the low tones that proved to be greater than for the high tones, it was always said that this was due to an affection of the middle ear, or, in other words, the diagnosis in such a case was a conduction ...

The heart as a bass organ

European Heart Journal, 1992
Many florid physical signs of aortic regurgitation have been described. We describe a florid investigational finding of virtually monotonous intracardiac reverberation originating at the aortic valve leaflets.

BASS

Proceedings of the 8th ACM SIGPLAN international conference on Principles and practice of declarative programming, 2006
We define BASS, a typed boxed ambients calculus with safe sessions. Sessions offer the possibility of using the same channel to transmit information of different types in a prescribed order. A session involves two communicating processes located either within the same ambient or across an ambient boundary.

ON QUASI-BASS ORDERS

Mathematics of the USSR-Izvestiya, 1972
We study quasi-Bass orders over complete local Dedekind rings, i.e. orders of which every indecomposable representation module is a direct summand of an over-ring. We give a method allowing us to reduce the study of such orders to the case of small algebras. The Bass and quasi-Bass concepts are carried over to the case of finite-dimensional algebras.
