Ultrasonic Velocities in BaTiO3
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1973The sound velocities in BaTiO 3 has been observed near its paraelectric to ferroelectric phase transition point. The anomalous part of the sound velocity of the longitudinal wave propagating along [100] direction depends on temperature as A [( T - T 0 )/ T 0 ] -ζ with ζ=0.41 and A =1.79×10 4 cm·sec -1 where T 0 is the paraelectric temperature.

Photorefractive surface grating in BaTiO/sub 3/
Proceedings of the 6th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students, Post-graduates and Young Scientists. Modern Techniques and Technology. MTT'2000 (Cat. No.00EX369), 2002We present the theoretical model of a photorefractive surface grating in Z-cut of BaTiO/sub 3/ crystal at steady state. Taking the crystal surface to be traction free we consider two cases: (a) dielectric boundary and (b) short-circuited (metallized) boundary.

The Curie point (T C) of BaTiO3 was earlier reported to be 120° C and has been recently believed to be 130° C. Some experiments have been performed here to reconfirm the T C. Firing conditions used for preparing BaTiO3 were examined first with the use of pure BaCO3 or Ba(NO3)2 and TiO2.

Effects of annealing atmosphere on photorefractive BaTiO 3
SPIE Proceedings, 2002Nominally undoped BaTiO3 crystals, processed in atmospheres of various oxygen partial pressure at 900 degree(s)C and 1000 degree(s)C, respectively, were fabricated and systematically investigated. The photorefractive properties are sequentially controlled by the factor from dark decay, deep/shallow trap, deep/shallow trap with hole/electron competition

Recollections of the BaTiO3family
Ferroelectrics, 1992Abstract From the viewpoint that the space available to constituent ions may dominantly influence the lattice instabilities, the displacive phase transitions of the perovskite-type oxide crystals are comparatively surveyed. The limit of applicability of this approach is also considered in connection with other possible mechanisms.
