tBid‐Mediated Genetic Ablation of Connective Tissue Cells Reveals Their Key Regulatory Function During Limb Regeneration in Axolotls

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We establish a tBid‐mediated cell ablation system in axolotls, achieve rapid and efficient ablation of multiple cell types, including muscle stem cell, spinal cord cell, and connective tissue (CT) cells. We investigate the role of CT using tBid‐mediated CT ablation and identify its essential role for limb development and regeneration.

Follow-up study of expression of Bcl-2, Bax, p53 and ACE in CD34+ cells of peripheral blood and bone marrow in acute leukemia patients in the course of induction chemotherapy

open access: yesТерапевтический архив, 2011
Aim. To determine unbalance in the system of programmed cell death in the cells CD34+ of the bone marrow (BM) and peripheral blood (PB) before and after cytostatic impact in acute leukemia (AL). Material and methods.

The expression of VDACs and Bcl2 family genes in pituitary adenomas: clinical correlations and postsurgical outcomes

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
IntroductionPituitary adenomas (PAs) are benign tumors with high prevalence and, occasionally, aggressive course. The tumorigenesis of these lesions is not completely understood at the molecular level.

BAX-Dependent and BAX-Independent Regulation of Kiss1 Neuron Development in Mice [PDF]

open access: yesEndocrinology, 2010
The Kiss1 gene and its product kisspeptin are important regulators of reproduction. In rodents, Kiss1 is expressed in the hypothalamic arcuate (ARC) and anteroventral periventricular (AVPV)/rostral periventricular (PeN) nuclei. In the AVPV/PeN, females have more Kiss1 and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) neurons than males.

T Cell‐Independent Role of PD‐L1 in Kidney Repair: Mitigation of Tubular DNA Damage via PD‐L1/BRCA1 Interaction Following AKI

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PD‐L1 is primarily expressed in renal tubules and upregulated in both murine models of AKI and renal biopsy samples from patients with AKI. PD‐L1 can promote adaptive TECs repair through interacting with BRCA1, independent of its canonical immunomodulatory function of T cells, and PD‐L1 supplementation may represent a promising therapeutic strategy for

Reversal of Hyperglycemia and Suppression of Type 1 Diabetes in the NOD Mouse with Apoptotic DNA Immunotherapy™ (ADi™), ADi-100

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2020
The antigen-specific apoptotic DNA immunotherapeutic, ADi-100, is designed to suppress type 1 diabetes and consists of two DNA plasmids encoding genetic sequences of the apoptosis-inducing molecule, BAX, and the secreted form of the autoantigen, glutamic

Distinct promoter elements mediate the co-operative effect of Brn-3a and p53 on the p21 promoter and their antagonism on the Bax promoter

open access: yes, 2002
Although the promoters of both the Bax and p21 genes are activated by p53, they differ in the effect on this activation of the POU family transcription factor Brn-3a. Thus, Brn-3a inhibits activation of the Bax promoter by p53 but enhances the ability of

NET‐DNA Activates the ANXA2/TMEM215/BiP Axis to Promote Mitophagy‐Mediated Anoikis Resistance in Endometriosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NET‐DNA is enriched during early endometriotic lesion establishment and drives anoikis resistance by promoting an ANXA2–TMEM215–BiP axis. This pathway strengthens ER–mitochondria contacts, enhances PINK1/Parkin‐associated mitophagy, preserves mitochondrial homeostasis, and supports ectopic stromal cell survival, thereby facilitating lesion persistence ...

Effects of carfilzomib alone and in combination with cisplatin on the gene expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in ovarian carcinoma cell lines [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Preventive and Complementary Medicine
Background: Carfilzomib (CFZ), a proteasome inhibitor, has demonstrated potential in the treatment of ovarian cancer, including variants that are resistant to cisplatin (Cis). Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the effects of CFZ, both as a ...

Biomimetic Bone Marrow Monocyte Membrane‐Fused Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Therapy of Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a biomimetic delivery system (M‐hEV) by fusing monocyte membranes with extracellular vesicles for targeted therapy of damaged cardiac tissue. The system homes to injured myocardium through specific molecular pathways. In a myocardial infarction model, M‐hEV effectively accumulates in the heart, reduces infarct size, alleviates ...
