Statistical Analysis and Applications of Adaptive Progressively Type-II Hybrid Poisson–Exponential Censored Data

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
A new two-parameter extended exponential lifetime distribution with an increasing failure rate called the Poisson–exponential (PE) model was explored.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Some results on Bayes estimation under Linex loss function [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hyperstructures
In this paper, we introduced straightforward formulas for the Bayes risk linked to the Linex loss function, which we then applied to estimate parameters of the normal, Poisson, and fractional Weibull distributions. We aimed to investigate the development ...

Estimations For The Odd Weibull Distribution under Progressive Type-II Right Censored Samples

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi, 2020
In this study, We introducedperformances Maximum Likelihood (ML) and Bayes estimation under LINEX, GENTROPYand SQUARED loss functions results concerning a progressively type-II censoredsamples for parameters of OddW distribution.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Hierarchical regression for multiple comparisons in a case-control study of occupational risks for lung cancer.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
BackgroundOccupational studies often involve multiple comparisons and therefore suffer from false positive findings. Semi-Bayes adjustment methods have sometimes been used to address this issue.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

A Note on the Bayes Estimation of Reliability for the Inverse Gaussian Distribution [PDF]

open access: yesThe Egyptian Statistical Journal, 1986
Bayes estimators of the reliability function of the inverse Gaussian distribution are obtained when λ, the scale parameter is known. The Bayes estimators are compared with the maximum likelihood and minimum variance unbiased estimators of reliability ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
