A Bayesian Game without epsilon equilibria

open access: yesCoRR, 2017
We present a three player Bayesian game for which there is no epsilon equilibria in Borel measurable strategies for small enough epsilon, however there are non-measurable equilibria.

Greater effects of mutual cooperation and defection on subsequent cooperation in direct reciprocity games than generalized reciprocity games: Behavioral experiments and analysis using multilevel models.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Reciprocity toward a partner's cooperation is a fundamental behavioral strategy underlying human cooperation not only in interactions with familiar persons but also with strangers.

Common reasoning in games: a Lewisian analysis of common knowledge of rationality [PDF]

open access: yes
The game-theoretic assumption of ‘common knowledge of rationality’ leads to paradoxes when rationality is represented in a Bayesian framework as cautious expected utility maximisation with independent beliefs (ICEU).

Processing Data from Social Dilemma Experiments: A Bayesian Comparison of Parametric Estimators [PDF]

open access: yes
Observed choices in Social Dilemma Games usually take the form of bounded integers. We propose a doubly-truncated count data framework to process such data.

Beyond normal form invariance: first mover advantage in two-stage games with or without predictable cheap talk [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Von Neumann (1928) not only introduced a fairly general version of the extensive form game concept. He also hypothesized that only the normal form was relevant to rational play.

Game-theoretic Methods for Differentiating Systems with Artificial and Anthropogenic Intelligence

open access: yesJournal on Interactive Systems
The aim of the article is to develop procedures for differentiation (identifying) types of intelligent systems at the conceptual level. It is assumed that such systems can be built using both anthropogenic (natural) and artificial intelligence.

Bayesian Knowledge Tracing Implemented in a Telecommunications Serious Game

open access: yesInternational Journal of Serious Games
The University of Johannesburg has integrated serious games into its teaching, exemplified by Codebreakers, a 2D game teaching information theory. While successful, Codebreakers lacked personalisation and used a criticised assessment method based on ...
