Amplifying Anti‐Tumor Immune Responses via Mitochondria‐Targeting Near‐Infrared Photodynamic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interfacial Nd3+‐triplet energy transfer enables direct activation of molecular triplets under near‐infrared (NIR) irradiation for reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) exaggerates hypoxia, which initiates subsequent hypoxia‐activated chemotherapy.

Mortalin and PINK1/Parkin‐Mediated Mitophagy Represent Ovarian Cancer‐Selective Targets for Drug Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian cancer patients with high levels of mortalin protein in their tumors have worse survival. The investigational drug SHetA2 interferes with mortalin's support of mitochondria. The resulting mitochondrial damage causes a process called mitophagy that contributes to how SHetA2 kills cancer cells. Noncancerous cells repair their mitochondria through

Inhibition of AMPKα Pathway by Podocyte GOLM1 Exacerbates Diabetic Nephrology in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Podocyte Golgi membrane protein 1 interacts with epidermal growth factor receptor to inhibit peroxisome proliferator activated receptor γ, and then inactivates adenosine monophosphate activated protein kinase α pathway, which facilitates diabetes‐related inflammation, oxidative damage, apoptosis, and renal dysfunction.

A Network‐Driven Framework for Drug Response Precision Prediction of Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A network‐based precision medicine platform, named NetAML is offered for personalized treatment of AML. It combines network analysis and machine learning to develop 87 models predicting drug sensitivity for clinical drugs. NetAML identifies interpretable gene signatures that drive differential drug responses, enabling the prediction of individual ...
