Peri‐implant disease pathogenesis animal models: Consensus report of Workgroup 1 of the IADR Implantology Research Group Best Evidence Consensus Symposium on Peri‐Implant Disease and Its Treatment

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The pathogenesis and etiology of peri‐implantitis demand a deeper understanding to lead to successful treatment modalities. Animal models of peri‐implantitis pathogenesis offer unique insights but their translational impact requires consideration of implant biomaterials science.

Presence of Probst Bundles Indicate White Matter Remodeling in a Dog With Corpus Callosum Hypoplasia and Dysplasia

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2018
Corpus callosum abnormalities (CCA) rarely occur in dogs and are related to hypo/adypsic hypernatremia and seizures. Hypoplasia and dysplasia of the corpus callosum (CC) with concomitant lobar holoprosencephaly is the most common variant. It is currently

Species Differences in Stereoselective Pharmacokinetics of HSG4112, A New Anti-Obesity Agent

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2020
HSG4112, a racemic drug, is a new anti-obesity agent. In this study, the stereoselective pharmacokinetics of HSG4112 were investigated in rats and dogs, and the underlying mechanism was investigated. The plasma concentrations of HSG4112(S) and HSG4112(R)

Development and validation of an LC–MS/MS method for quantitative determination of LXT-101 sustained-release suspension, a novel drug in treating prostate cancer, in beagle plasma

open access: yesScientific Reports
The pharmacokinetics of LXT-101 sustained-release suspension, an anti-prostate cancer polypeptide, were studied on beagle dogs using a high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) method. Samples were prepared by the protein

Glucose metabolism in the lactating beagle dog

open access: yes, 1962
A study was made of the role of glucose as an oxidizable substrate and as a source of C for the synthesis of milk using lactating beagle dogs. Uniformly C14-labeled glucose was used as a tracer of these metabolic pathways.

Developing the Dopamine D3 Receptor (D3R) Antagonist, (R)‐VK4‐116, as a Non‐Opioid Medication for the Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Opioid use disorder (OUD) remains a major global health challenge, and currently approved treatments (methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone) are all opioid receptor‐targeting drugs with limitations in access, adherence, stigma, and use in polysubstance use disorders. Because the dopamine D3 receptor (D3R) is enriched in limbic brain regions

The Genetic Legacy of Cretan Landrace Grapevines and Their Relationship to the Southern Levant

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Grapes are more than an agricultural crop; they are a vital part of human history, economy, and culture. Yet the origins of many traditional varieties remain unclear. By studying the genetics of Cretan grapes, we discovered that they are a “genetic mosaic”—combining local lineages with those from the Southern Levant and Eastern Europe.
