Volume Scanning with Conical Beams
Proceedings of the IRE, 1950The equations of motion for a radar scan that provides a nearly constant number of pulses to all point targets are derived. In addition, the periods for this scan and for the more conventional one having constant angular velocities are presented. For these types of scanners it is found that the optimum cross-over point between adjacent beams is at the ...

Comparison of Beam Scanning Systems
1983Present day ion implanters provide uniform distribution of energetic ions into target materials, utilizing one or two of the basic beam scanning techniques; electrostatic, magnetic, and mechanical. Each beam scanning technique has physical limits and characteristics which affect its successful use in an ion implanter for semiconductor processing.

Scanning Techniques With Light Beams
Information Display, 1966Summary A survey and analysis of methods of optical deflection of light beams is presented in this paper. Coherent light beams could be used for small or large screen displays similar to the electron beam magnetic or electrostatic deflection, if light beam deflection methods are available with adequate deflection angle.

Quality Assurance for Beam Scanning
2009The interest in heavy ion radiotherapy is currently increasing worldwide [ref:1], [ref:2], [ref:3]. While in the initial phase, most facilities were located at experimental institutions (such as the Lawrence Berkley Laboratory (USA), the Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung[for full text, please go to the a.m. URL]

Signals Excited by the Scanning Beam
1976The main part of this book deals with transmission electron microscopy of thin foils. In this chapter we illustrate very briefly with a few examples the possibilities of the scanning electron microscope (SEM). The electron beam excites electromagnetic waves and electron signals from a thin surface layer of a target in a wide energy range from fractions
