Low Speed Current Bearing Anti-force Waves

open access: yesJournal of the Arkansas Academy of Science, 2014
For theoretical investigation of electrical breakdown of a gas, we apply a one-dimensional, steady profile, constant velocity, three-component (electrons, ions and neutral particles) fluid model. Our fluid model consists of the equations of conservation of mass, momentum and energy, coupled with the Poison’s equation. The set of equations is referred

Evaluation of the damages caused by lightning current flowing through bearings [PDF]

open access: yes
A laboratory for lightning current tests was set up allowing the generation of the lightning currents foreseen by the Standards. Lightning tests are carried out on different objects, aircraft materials and components, evaluating the direct and indirect ...

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

A multi-factorial genetic model for prognostic assessment of high risk melanoma patients receiving adjuvant interferon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Purpose: IFNa was the first cytokine to demonstrate anti-tumor activity in advanced melanoma. Despite the ability of high-dose IFNa reducing relapse and mortality by up to 33%, large majority of patients experience side effects and toxicity which ...

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Experimental verification of an eddy-current bearing [PDF]

open access: yes
A new type of electromagnetic bearing was built and tested. It consists of fixed AC-electromagnets in a star formation surrounding a conducting rotor. The bearing works by repulsion due to eddy-currents induced in the rotor.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

STRATIFICATED FLOW OF TWO-LAYER LUBRICATION IN THE CLEARANCE OF THRUST BEARING WITH THE INCREASED BEARING CAPACITY

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2010
A method of calculation of the thrust plain bearing with adapted profile of the bearing capacity, providing the increased bearing capacity of the bearing, working on the stratified two-layer lubrication in the presence of the porous layer on the surface ...

Wave Profile for Current Bearing Lightning Strokes

open access: yesJournal of the Arkansas Academy of Science, 2018
The propagation of breakdown waves in a gas, which is primarily driven by electron gas pressure, is described by a one-dimensional, steady-state, three-component (electrons, ions, and neutral particles) fluid model. This study will involve waves propagating in the opposite direction of the electric field force on electrons (anti-force waves—lightning
