Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Modified Slot Opening for Reducing Shaft-to-Frame Voltage of AC Motors

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
This paper presents a method to reduce the winding-to-rotor capacitance of electrical machines for the purpose of suppressing shaft-to-frame voltage, which causes reliability issues, such as electromagnetic interference (EMI) and bearing current.

Resonant DC link inverters for AC motor drive systems – critical evaluation [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences: Technical Sciences, 2019
In this survey paper, resonant and quasiresonant dc link inverters are reexamined for ac motor drive applications. Critical evaluation of representative topologies is based on simulation and waveform analysis to characterize current/voltage stress of ...

The Influence of Load and Speed on the Initial Breakdown of Rolling Bearings Exposed to Electrical Currents

open access: yesLubricants, 2023
The reason for the failure of electric vehicle drives is increasingly current-induced damage to rolling bearings. Studies show that rolling bearings are more susceptible to current pass-through after the first occurrence of unwanted bearing currents.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
