Real-time quantitative PCR for analysis of candidate fungal biopesticides against malaria: Technique validation and first applications [PDF]
Recent research has indicated that fungal biopesticides could augment existing malaria vector control tools. Here we present a set of methodologies to monitor the in vivo kinetics of entomopathogenic fungi in Anopheles in the presence or absence of ...

Mathematical Modelling of Beauveria Bassiana [PDF]
The isolate of white muscardine, Beauveria bassiana was isolated from soil using SDAY media. The experiment was studied under submerged culture in selective broth at varied interval of days, in view of dry weight of hyphal biomass. In this presentation we want to introduce a mathematical growth model of Beauveria bassiana and the perspective of ...

The infectivity of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana to insecticide-resistant and susceptible Anopheles arabiensis mosquitoes at two different temperatures [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Control of the major African malaria vector species continues to rely extensively on the application of residual insecticides through indoor house spraying or bed net impregnation.

First report of the infection of insecticide-resistant malaria vector mosquitoes with an entomopathogenic fungus under field conditions. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Insecticide-resistant mosquitoes are compromising the ability of current mosquito control tools to control malaria vectors. A proposed new approach for mosquito control is to use entomopathogenic fungi.

Growth and metabolism of Beauveria bassiana spores and mycelia [PDF]
Fungi are ubiquitous in nature and have evolved over time to colonize a wide range of ecosystems including pest control. To date, most research has focused on the hypocrealean genera Beauveria bassiana, which is a typical filamentous fungus with a high potential for insect control.

Tools for delivering entomopathogenic fungi to malaria mosquitoes: effects of delivery surfaces on fungal efficacy and persistence. [PDF]
BACKGROUND\ud \ud Entomopathogenic fungi infection on malaria vectors increases daily mortality rates and thus represents a control measure that could be used in integrated programmes alongside insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs) and indoor residual ...

РОСТСТИМУЛИРУЮЩАЯ АКТИВНОСТЬ ЭНТОМОПАТОГЕННЫХ ГРИБОВ BEAUVERIA BASSIANA
В нашем исследовании была проведена оценка возможной ростостимулирующей активности исследуемых штаммов энтомопатогенных грибов Beauveria bassiana. Нами было проанализировано шесть штаммов перспективные в качестве биоинсектицида по отношению к ряду ...
