Analysis of whitefly transcriptional responses to Beauveria bassiana infection reveals new insights into insect-fungus interactions. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
BACKGROUND: The fungal pathogen, Beauveria bassiana, is an efficient biocontrol agent against a variety of agricultural pests. A thorough understanding of the basic principles of insect-fungus interactions may enable the genetic modification of Beauveria

Evaluation of Beauveria bassiana and Beauveria pseudobassiana Against Tanymecus dilaticollis

open access: yesRomanian Agricultural Research, 2023
The grey corn weevil, Tanymecus (Episomecus) dilaticollis Gyll., (Curculionidae: Entiminae) is the most destructive pest of maize and sun flower crops in Romania. In this article we report result of evaluation of native strains of entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill. (Deuteromicotina: Hyphomycetes) and B.

Compatibility of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana with etoxazole, spirodiclofen and spiromesifen against Tetranychus urticae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
In the Integrated Pest Management of Tetranychus urticae, it is important to use microbiological control agents and acaricides with differing modes of action in order to reduce the risk of resistance, so often reported for this mite. This study evaluates

Host plant‐specific volatiles of Beauveria bassiana‐colonized plants initiate trophic plant–aphid–predator cascades

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Endophytic colonization of melon plants by B. bassiana modifies the crop volatile profiles in a genotype‐dependent manner. A predator choice is biased toward endophytically colonized plants infested with aphids revealing a guardian within effect of the fungus of great potential in integrated pest management.

Effect of photoperiod and host distribution on the horizontal transmission of Isaria fumosorosea (Hypocreales: Cordycipitaceae) in greenhouse whitefly assessed using a novel model bioassay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A model bioassay was used to evaluate the epizootic potential and determine the horizontal transmission efficiency of Isaria fumosorosea Trinidadian strains against Trialeurodes vaporariorum pharate adults under optimum conditions (25±0.5°C, ~100% RH ...
