A novel BECCS power cycle using CO2 exhaust gas recycling to enhance biomass gasification

open access: yes, 2020
Although not yet a mature technology, biomass energy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) is expected to be the leading negative emissions technology deployed over the 21st century to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In this paper, a novel BECCS

What Is the Best Use of Biomass? A Harmonized LCA‐TEA Framework Quantifying Economic and Environmental Metrics for Bioenergy Pathways

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 5, May 2026.
A harmonized LCA and TEA framework evaluates 19 bioenergy pathways, quantifying carbon intensity (CI), minimum fuel selling price (MFSP), and marginal abatement cost (MAC). CCS reduces CI to net‐negative values and lowers MAC by up to 64%, with bioelectricity achieving the lowest MAC and liquid biofuels critical for hard‐to‐abate sectors.

Vegetational Characteristics in Natural Habitat and Population Structure of the Endangered Plant Tigridiopalma Genus

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
First comprehensive ecological assessment of the endangered genus Tigridiopalma, covering two China endemic Plant Species with Extremely Small Populations (PSESP), T. magnifica and the newly described T. exalata. T. magnifica exhibits broader habitat diversity and understory resilience, while T.

BECCS - Vägen till negativa koldioxidutsläpp

open access: yes, 2022
Enligt FN:s klimatpanel IPCC bör den globala uppvärmningen inte överstiga 1,5 ℃ jämfört med förindustriella nivåer, för att förhindra klimatrelaterade risker.

A LITERATURE REVIEW ON ETHNOBOTANICAL, PHYTOCHEMICAL, AND PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF ADONIDIA MERRILLII (BECC.) BECC

open access: yesBerkala Penelitian Hayati
This paper presents the ethnobotanical information, phytochemical content, and pharmacological activities of Adonidia merrillii. Ethnobotanical studies of A. merrillii in several countries such as the Philippines, Nigeria, India, Malaysia, and Indonesia revealed that this palm is known as an ornamental plant and is also utilized for medicinal purposes ...

Peatlands Have the Potential to Emerge as Significant Contributors to Future Climate Warming

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Peatlands store a substantial amount of carbon in the terrestrial ecosystem. They are both long‐term sinks of organic carbon and a major natural source of atmospheric methane. The accumulation of carbon is a result of net primary production surpassing decomposition rates over millennia, whereas methane production is intricately linked to the ...

Differences in mycelial turnover and persistence of wood‐decay fungi at the microscale

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 1, Page 577-590, April 2026.
Summary How long do fungal hyphae persist in the environment? And how does this differ between groups and species of fungi? Despite growing knowledge of fungal contributions to decomposition and soil carbon cycles, surprisingly little is known about the turnover of mycelia: What happens to fungal hyphae over time? And how this impacts different fungi's
