ANÁLISE DO CBIO COMO PASSO INICIAL AO DESENVOLVIMENTO DE BECCS NO BRASIL em

open access: yes, 2022
The importance of bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) is mainly due to its ability to achieve negative emissions. Several policies have been implemented to encourage less polluting technologies, among which is the Decarbonization Credit ...

Phenology and Breeding Mechanisms of Calamus lobbianus Becc. and Calamus pygmaeus Becc.

open access: yesTropical life sciences research
The floral biology of Calamus is relatively unknown except for several species. In this study, Calamus lobbianus and Calamus pygmaeus were selected to represent the non-climbing rattan of the Sundaland's flagellate group. Observations on phenology, floral rewards and floral visitors as well as experiments on the breeding mechanism and operational sex ...

Unlocking Green Oxygen's Potential for Planetary Carbon Management

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
Water electrolysis generates both H2 and O2, yet industrial focus remains largely restricted to H2‐driven reductions. The parallel use of O2 offers considerable rewards but remains underexplored. Unlocking this dual‐gas potential necessitates robust cross‐sector communication to identify and scale viable industrial use cases.

Achieving Net‐Zero in the Electricity Sector in China by 2050 Considering Environmental and Economic Objectives

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 10, Issue 3, March 2026.
China's pathways to net‐zero electricity by 2050 are evaluated using life cycle environmental and economic assessment across six scenarios. Results show that a renewables‐only grid offers the best overall environmental performance and lowest cost, but increases burdens on metal depletion, land use, and ecotoxicity.

Comparing GHG Emissions of Residue‐Based BECCS to Alternative Biomass Uses

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy
Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) holds promise for achieving negative greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while generating electricity. When using forestry or agricultural residues as feedstock, BECCS may also avoid or reduce land‐use based ...

From polarization to reluctant acceptance–bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) and the post-normalization of the climate debate

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Environmental Sciences, 2019
The paper covers the public debate on BECCS (bioenergy with carbon capture and storage) between 2008 and 2018. Through a qualitative analysis of around 800 feature articles, editorials, and opinion pieces published in English, German, Swedish, Danish ...

Introducing BECCS through HPC to the research agenda: The case of combined heat and power in Stockholm

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2019
In the years since COP21 in Paris, awareness of the need for carbon sinks has grown rapidly. However, policy instruments supporting a path to this target are still lacking.Bioenergy carbon capture and storage (BECCS) may provide a way to rapidly reduce ...

Eco‐Evolutionary Dynamics of Generalist and Specialist Pollinators Facing Plant Diversity Changes

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
We use a trait‐based eco‐evolutionary model to explore how changes in flowering plant composition affect interacting pollinators on short‐term ecological and long‐term evolutionary timescales. We find that evolutionary responses to landscape simplification, especially among generalist pollinators, may lead to a substantial loss of functional diversity ...

Emission scenario analysis for China under the global 1.5 °C target

open access: yesCarbon Management, 2018
In the Paris Agreement, there are targets set up for 2100 to be well below 2 °C. A more ambitious target of 1.5 °C also appears in the agreement. In order to address whether this target is achievable or not, studies about the 1.5 °C target's emission ...

Dessecação e armazenamento de sementes de Adonidia merrillii (Becc.) Becc.

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciências Agrárias - Brazilian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2017
Palm species have wide use in the world as ornamental plants in gardens, parks and urban areas, and to support information on seed production of this family, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of drying and storage of seeds on the emergence and the initial growth of Adonidia merrillii (Becc.) Becc seedlings.
