Socio‐Demographic Variation in Adherence to the Eatwell Guide Within the UK Biobank Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesNutrition Bulletin, Volume 51, Issue 2, Page 258-268, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to explore patterns of Eatwell Guide adherence across socio‐demographic groups in the UK Biobank cohort. A total of 192 825 individuals were included in the analysis. Eatwell Guide adherence scores were derived from 24‐h dietary recall data (Oxford WebQ), and quantified using a graded, food‐based scoring system.

Endophytic and ectomycorrhizal, an overlooked dual ecological niche? Insights from natural environments and Russula species

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 6, Page 3946-3960, June 2026.
Summary Ectomycorrhizal fungi (EcMF) are key components of temperate ecosystems, and recent studies suggest that they can also inhabit non‐EcM plant roots as endophytes. We aimed to (1) provide new evidence of EcMF colonization of non‐EcM hosts, (2) offer direct microscopic confirmation of such endophytism and (3) assess factors influencing ...

Text as tape: On the voice in the late prose of Friederike Mayröcker

open access: yesOrbis Litterarum, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 248-270, June 2026.
Abstract For a text to have a voice means to be caught in a paradox: the text obviously does not speak, so what is that tone rising from the pages? Taking hold of a striking ambivalence, this essay examines the relationship between text and voice in the late prose of Austrian poet Friederike Mayröcker.

Alveolar–capillary reserve in COPD assessed by the pulmonary diffusing capacity response to an upright‐to‐supine postural change

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 6, Page 2759-2776, 1 June 2026.
Abstract In patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who exhibit reduced alveolar–capillary reserve, the combined assessment of pulmonary diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide and nitric oxide (DL,CO,NO) during exercise may pose difficulties, and the transition from upright to supine posture may offer a useful alternative. A total of

Prediction of Hydroclimatic Anomalies Using a New Isotope Precipitation Index

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract Global warming is driving changes in atmospheric moisture seasonality and an increase in the frequency of prolonged precipitation anomalies. These anomalies are often assumed to be characterized by moisture sourced from oceanic evaporation, rather than being moderated by recycled terrestrial evapotranspiration. However, current indexes used to
