Cognitive reflection test and behavioral biases in Malaysia [PDF]

open access: yesJudgment and Decision Making, 2014
We asked whether behavioral biases are related to cognitive abilities of Malaysian youth. Frederick's three-item Cognitive Reflection Test was used to understand the role of behavioral biases concerning behavioral economics and finance.

Impact of behavioral biases on investment decision making and mediating effect of risk perception

open access: yesJournal of the Academy of Business and Emerging Markets, 2022
The purpose of the study is to analyze the impact of behavioral biases—anchoring, loss aversion, overconfidence, disposition and regret aversion—on investment decision making, and the mediating role of risk perception between the biases and investment ...

On‐treatment dynamics of circulating extracellular vesicles in the first‐line setting of patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer: the LEXOVE prospective study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.

Simple models predict behavior at least as well as behavioral scientists [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
How accurately can behavioral scientists predict behavior? To answer this question, we analyzed data from five studies in which 640 professional behavioral scientists predicted the results of one or more behavioral science experiments. We compared the behavioral scientists' predictions to random chance, linear models, and simple heuristics like ...

Effects of biasing on the galaxy power spectrum at large scales [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.D83:103509,2011, 2010
n this paper we study the effect of biasing on the power spectrum at large scales. We show that even though non-linear biasing does introduce a white noise contribution on large scales, the $P(k)\propto k^n$ behavior of the matter power spectrum on large scales may still be visible and above the white noise for about one decade.

Molecular and functional profiling unravels targetable vulnerabilities in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We used whole exome and RNA‐sequencing to profile divergent genomic and transcriptomic landscapes of microsatellite stable (MSS) and microsatellite instable (MSI) colorectal cancer. Alterations were classified using a computational score for integrative cancer variant annotation and prioritization.

Heuristics and Biases in Retirement Savings Behavior [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Perspectives, 2007
Standard economic theories of saving implicitly assume that households have the cognitive ability to solve the relevant optimization problem and the willpower to execute the optimal plan. Both of the implicit assumptions are suspect. Even among economists, few spend much time calculating a personal optimal savings rate.

Classification of acute myeloid leukemia based on multi‐omics and prognosis prediction value

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Unsupervised AML Multi‐Omics Classification System (UAMOCS) integrates genomic, methylation, and transcriptomic data to categorize AML patients into three subtypes (UAMOCS1‐3). This classification reveals clinical relevance, highlighting immune and chromosomal characteristics, prognosis, and therapeutic vulnerabilities.
