Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Integrating POI-Driven Functional Attractiveness into Cellular Automata for Urban Spatial Modeling: Case Study of Yan’an, China

open access: yesBuildings
Urban growth models often prioritize environmental and accessibility factors while underestimating behavioral and functional dynamics. This study develops a POI-enhanced Cellular Automata (CA) framework to simulate urban expansion by incorporating three ...

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

(WP 2014-03) Bounded Rationality and Bounded Individuality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper argues that since the utility function conception of the individual is derived from standard rationality theory, the view that rationality is bounded suggests that individuality should also be seen as bounded.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Behavioral Modeling of RF Power Amplifiers with Carrier-Frequency Generalization Using Interpolated Memory Polynomials

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Power amplifier behavioral modeling is an important technique for efficient and accurate digital predistortion, but conventional models fail to generalize when applied across varying carrier frequencies.

Modeling Behavioral Heterogeneity in Demand Theory [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper is a first step in answering B. Villemeur\'s (1998,1999) and Hildenbrand\'s (1998) criticism of the notions of behavioral heterogeneity introduced in demand theory by Grandmont (1992) and Kneip (1999).

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

A Multi-Fish Tracking and Behavior Modeling Framework for High-Density Cage Aquaculture

open access: yesSensors
Multi-fish tracking and behavior analysis in deep-sea cages face two critical challenges: first, the homogeneity of fish appearance and low image quality render appearance-based association unreliable; second, standard linear motion models fail to ...
