Electroencephalographic correlates of temporal Bayesian belief updating and surprise
The brain predicts the timing of forthcoming events to optimize responses to them. Temporal predictions have been formalized in terms of the hazard function, which integrates prior beliefs on the likely timing of stimulus occurrence with information ...

Sea cucumber mutable collagenous tissue (MCT) is a remarkable collagen‐based material which can rapidly undergo large changes in stiffness through transiently bound effector proteins. Here, we investigate the hierarchical structure and mechanical response of MCT from Cucumaria frondosa across length scales with a wide range of methods, also exploring ...

Causal Role of the Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex in Belief Updating under Uncertainty.
Adaptive performance in uncertain environments depends on the ability to continuously update internal beliefs about environmental states. Recent correlative evidence suggests that a frontoparietal network including the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex ...

Bioprinting High‐Cell‐Density Cardiac Tissue Constructs With Sustained Contractile Function
Contractile cardiomyocytes in 3D culture provide insights into the behavior of the heart. Combining a 3D bioprinting approach with a multi‐electrode array allows the development of the 3D culture to be monitored over time, and matured cultures allow the effect of drugs on cardiac function to be modelled, replicating effects seen in clinical application.

On the Consistency between Belief Revision and Belief Update
Belief revision and belief update are two fundamental and well-studied processes of belief change. In the present article, we introduce a consistency principle which dictates that the revision and update policies employed by a rational agent are not independent, but ought to be related in a certain coherent way.
