Analytic approximation for eigenvalues of a class of $\mathcal{PT}$ symmetric Hamiltonians [PDF]
An analytical approximation for the eigenvalues of $\mathcal{PT}$ symmetric Hamiltonian $\mathsf{H} = -d^{2}/dx^{2} - (\mathrm{i}x)^{\epsilon+2}$, $\epsilon > -1$ is developed via simple basis sets of harmonic-oscillator wave functions with variable ...

The epochs of early-type galaxy formation as a function of environment [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to set constraints of the epochs of early-type galaxy formation through the 'archaeology' of the stellar populations in local galaxies.

Investigation on relationship between P-wave velocity and B-value by bender element tests
The P-wave velocity Vp and the pore water pressure coefficient B in saturated soils are measured by bender element system in a GDS stress path triaxial apparatus. The evolution of P-wave signals with saturation and the effects of fluid type (tap water or

K0-determination by stress path triaxial apparatus with bender element
The coefficient of lateral earth pressure at rest K0 of Shanghai soft clay is measured by the GDS stress path triaxial device. The shear wave velocity and the corresponding small strain shear stiffness at K0 state are also determined by the bender ...

Experimental study on HSS model parameters for marine soft soils in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province
The offshore wind turbine structure has strict control criteria of the tilt and the resonant frequency of the foundation, while the small strain stiffness of the marine soils plays an important role in these properties.

EFFECT OF ALIGNMENT ON THE QUALITY OF BENDER ELEMENT PROCEDURE
One of the main geophysical tools (seismic tools) in the laboratory is the bender element. This tool can be used to measure some dynamic soil properties (e.g. shear and Young’s modulus). However, even if it relatively simple to use the bender element, inconsistent testing procedures can cause poor quality in the bender element data.
