Dissipation boundaries for bender element experiments on geomaterials based on experimental and computational models

open access: yesTransportation Engineering
The bender element (BE) test is widely employed in geotechnical engineering for measuring the shear wave velocity (Vs) and, consequently, the small-strain shear modulus (G0), due to its ease of application, integration into geotechnical devices, and ...

Simulasi Pembebanan Komponen Bender pada Desain Mesin Begel Fabricator Menggunakan Software Autodesk Inventor 2020

open access: yesQuantum Teknika, 2021
Stress analysis of the bender components in the design of the begel fabricator machine was carried out using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) with three variations of the constituent material parameters, namely 6061 aluminum, mild steel, and cast iron with ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Evaluation of the shear wave velocity (VS) of an artificial carbonate sand obtained with the use of bender elements test

open access: yesDyna, 2021
Carbonate sand is characterized by the presence of fragile grains, which may influence their mechanical response due to the imposed loading; especially cyclic loading.

The Role of Calcitonin Gene‐Related Peptide in High‐Altitude Headache: A Prospective Field Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐altitude headache (HAH) is a common neurological condition associated with rapid ascent to high altitude. The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying HAH remain incompletely understood. Calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide implicated in migraine pathophysiology, may play a key role in the pathophysiology of ...

Development of PLC-controlled bender element array and its implementation in laterally loaded pile experiments

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
To enable real-time monitoring and evaluation of the soil stiffness characteristics, a bender element array system suitable for model testing has been developed. The system is based on a PLC control unit and employs a multi-channel switching architecture

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.
