Electrical Transmission in a New Age, 2002
The paper presents the results of tests on six single angles under minor axis bending, thirteen double angles under geometric axis bending, and eight laterally unsupported single angle beams with long legs horizontal. All twenty-seven specimens developed full plastic moment.

Right angle bends in light pipes: analysis
Applied Optics, 1976An expression for the fraction of incident radiation transmitted by a right angle bend in a rectangular light pipe is derived. This expression is used to show that, in a planar light pipe structure with right angle bends, light attenuation is due only to reflection losses at the walls if the launching angle is 45 degrees .

Effect of Bend Angle on Plastic Loads of Pipe Bends Under Internal Pressure and In-Plane Bending
Transactions of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers A, 2007This paper quantifies the effect of a bend angle of a pipe bend on plastic loads, via small strain and large strain FE limit analyses using elastic-perfectly plastic materials. To consider the effect of the attached straight pipe, two limiting cases are considered.

Effect of punch angle and punch radius on bend angle through air V-bending of sheet metal
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2019Nowadays, the process of metal forming in the industrial of welding and machinery is developing very rapidly, especially the bending process. In the manufacturing process, bending processes are often carried out to make and repair products such as electronic panel components, automobile vehicle panels, tool-boxes, burning fish, agricultural machinery ...

Proper Tracheostomy Tube Bending Angle and Flange-to-Angle Length
Journal of the Medical Association of Thailand, 2022Background: In tracheostomies, the use of tubes with appropriate bending angles and flange-to-angle lengths (FtLs) is essential to avoid complications. Objective: To assessed computed tomography (CT) scans of the normal anatomy of individuals to determine the appropriate bending angles and FtLs.

1994 24th European Microwave Conference, 1994
The new technique of the rectangular waveguide higher HqO-mode (2 ? q ? 20) excitation based on unique properties of multistage angular discontinuities was found by means of numerical simulation. Very simple constructions of the HqO- exciters for antenna and measuring equipment, for the solution of power dividing/adding problems, and microwave heating ...

Practical bending-angle calculation for an automated surgical plate bending apparatus
Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2020Surgical plates used for reconstructive surgery require a repetitive manual bending process to fit the plate to the defect during reconstruction. However, this process may not produce a plate that fits well, and repetitive bending may significantly increase the risk of plate fracture due to the accumulation of residual stress.

Bending angle optimization of archwire in orthodontics
Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2012Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that focuses on the study and treatment of malocclusions. Orthodontic treatments commonly involve the insertion of an archwire made from stainless steel or an alloy onto orthodontic brackets, thereby inducing movement of teeth into desired positions.

Experimental studies on the possibility of manufacturing cold bends with increased bending angles
SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGIES OIL AND OIL PRODUCTS PIPELINE TRANSPORTATION, 2020Used in order to turn the line of trunk pipelines in horizontal and vertical planes, cold bends are the simplest and most economical elements to be manufactured. Their smaller rotation angle compared with other types of bends is, however, a disadvantage. The article presents the results of cold bends, experimentally manufactured from K56 strength class

Effective neutron bending at large angles
Neutron News, 1995Abstract The use of smooth, hollow glass capillaries for neutron optics was discussed elsewhere (1,2,3). By means of such capillaries, neutron lenses were constructed, which allowed an increase of neutron flux at the focal point by a factor of 10–15.
