Determination of Bending Force and Bend Angle of Sheet Metal Welds

2020
Bending is one of the important sheet metal forming process. At present, the trend for light weight vehicles along with attactive and complicated geometric shapes is growing in a rapid way. The reduction in weight of the vehicle is to get a reduction in fuel consumption and its emissions.

Topological Measurement of an A-tract Bend Angle: Effect of Magnesium

Journal of Molecular Biology, 2004
Sequences of four to six adenine residues, termed A-tracts, have been shown to produce curvature in the DNA double helix. A-tracts have been used extensively as reference standards to quantify bending induced by other sequences as well as by DNA binding proteins when they bind to their sites.

Influence of forefoot bending stiffness on American football performance and metatarsophalangeal joint bending angle

Sports Biomechanics, 2020
Changes in forefoot bending stiffness have been shown to affect metatarsophalangeal peak bending angles as well as athletic performance. Increasing bending stiffness tends to reduce peak bending angles, which could potentially reduce hyperextension injuries such as turf toe.

Effect of Bend Angle on Plastic Limit Loads of Pipe Bends Under In-Plane Bending Moment

Volume 3: Design and Analysis, 2016
The effect of bend angle on plastic limit loads of pipe bends (elbows) under in-plane opening and closing bending moment is presented using three-dimensional large strain nonlinear finite element analyses. The results show that the presence of ovality significantly leads to the stress concentration in the middle cross section, which is the critical ...

Microstrip discontinuity capacitances and inductances for double steps, mitered bends with arbitrary angle, and asymmetric right-angle bends

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1980
The equivalent capacitances and inductances for microstrip double steps, mitered bends with arbitrary angle, and asymmetric right-angle bends are calculated by tbe moment method. The data for the double step include the coupling effect between the two single steps.

Non-Iterative Control of Small-Radius Bend Angle

Journal of Manufacturing Processes, 1999
Abstract Controlling first-part quality in small-radius press brake bending operations is motivated by the need to produce small-lot parts of high quality. A new technique for angle control has been developed based on an experimentally measured model of material properties, tooling geometry variables, and on-line measurements of part deformation ...

Numerical Investigation of the Effect of Micro Channel Bends Angle

ASME 2016 14th International Conference on Nanochannels, Microchannels, and Minichannels, 2016
A pressure driven compressible gas flow through three-dimensional microchannel with bend of various angles is investigated using Navier–Stokes equations coupled with the first-order Maxwell slip boundary condition along with Smoluchowski temperature jump definition. A wide range of bend angles from 60° to 180° is considered.

Topological Measurement of Protein-induced DNA Bend Angles

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1996
A new method measures independently the changes in the DNA bend and winding angles that occur when a protein binds to its specific site in DNA. The procedure requires an investigation of the change in DNA topology induced when the protein binds to tandemly repeated sites of varying repeat length in circular DNA. This new method is superior to currently

A Novel Flexible Bidirectional Bending Actuator with Large Angle

2019 7th International Conference on Robot Intelligence Technology and Applications (RiTA), 2019
Rigid manipulators are widely used in different industrial applications, while the rigid actuators are not suitable for grasping fragile and vulnerable objects. Thus, with the increasing demand for soft actuators in many special areas, soft actuators have also made leap-forward development.
