Nanoconfined Cu─O─Mo Asymmetric Sites Enable Ambient Spontaneous O2‐to‐1O2 Conversion for Sustainable Water Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An asymmetric Cu+─O─Mo6+ dual‐site in a nanoconfined membrane turns O2 into singlet oxygen at ambient conditions with ≈95% selectivity, bypassing superoxide. It concentrates reactants for rapid pollutant removal, operates stably in continuous flow with ultra‐low metal leaching and cost, efficiently purifying complex waters.

Resistance of Oil‐Infused PDMS with Different Macroporosities Against Bacterial Attachment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
In this study, a series of environmentally benign, nonfluorinated liquid paraffin‐infused porous PDMS networks with varying porosities is created. By introducing different homogenous and heterogenous bulk structures and varying interfacial roughness by sugar and salt templating, the role of porosity and oil availability on the resistance against ...

Sediment‐Resistant Marine Antifouling Coating Based on Amphiphilic Copolymer Brushes Bearing Sulfobetaine and Isobornyl Pendants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic copolymer coatings comprising sulfobetaine methacrylate (SBMA) and isobornyl methacrylate (IBMA) are reported, synthesized via SI‐ATRP, that resist biological fouling and sediment accumulation. The copolymer coating with an SBMA:IBMA feed molar ratio of 1:1 is optimal for reducing diatom adhesion and sediment adsorption.
