BENIGN CONDITIONS SIMULATING BONE TUMORS
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1956• Seven cases are presented to illustrate the importance of recognizing benign lesions or normal conditions that may give the appearance of malignant bone tumors. Any single lesion should be studied from more than one angle, and the roentgen appearance should be watched over an interval of time. Examination of the entire skeleton is necessary for exact

MALIGNANT AND BENIGN BONE TUMORS
Radiologic Clinics of North America, 2001The authors have intentionally included some confusing examples to demonstrate that the imaging findings of benign and malignant pediatric bone lesions are not always pathognomonic. The radiologist's role is to recognize malignant bone lesions and encourage the prompt referral of these patients to an appropriate institution for biopsy and treatment ...

Benign Pediatric Bone Tumors and Tumor-like lesions
Seminars in Roentgenology, 2021ABSTRACT Bone lesions pose challenges for diagnosis and management when encountered on imaging in pediatric patients. Sometimes developmental findings can mimic bone tumors, adding to the diagnostic difficulty. While the majority of the bone tumors are benign, unfamiliarity can lead to unnecessary workup.

Benign bone-forming tumors include osteomas, enostomas, osteoid osteomas, and osteoblastomas. These lesions are often characterized by typical imaging findings on radiographs, CT and MR imaging studies. Radiologic findings and additional clinical information allow for a specific diagnosis in most cases.

Benign bone tumors of the pelvis pose several important treatment considerations. While many of these lesions are found incidentally in the asymptomatic patient, the neurovascular structures that course through the pelvis in addition to the visceral organs contained within the bony pelvis can result in significant symptoms for lesions that generate ...

Lesions and proliferations throughout the musculoskeletal system are extremely common but rarely manifest into complications. Although they do not behave aggressively locally, that can at times become symptomatic and result in pathologic fracture.

Bone Tumors: Benign Bone Tumors.
FP essentials, 2020Primary benign bone tumors are uncommon and most often affect children and young adults. They typically are detected incidentally on imaging, though some patients present with pain, swelling, or other symptoms. The four main categories of benign bone tumor are: bone-forming (eg, osteoid osteoma, osteoblastoma, fibrous dysplasia, enostosis), cartilage ...

Angiography of Benign Bone Tumors
Acta Radiologica. Diagnosis, 1981Angiography of benign bone tumors has previously only been performed in a limited number of cases. Twenty-five cases of 9 different types of benign bone lesion are reported. They were avascular or slightly hypervascular. Absence of soft tissue involvement serves to differentiate benign from malignant bone tumors.
