On the dual of a Coulter–Matthews bent function
Coulter–Matthews (CM) bent functions are from F3n to F3 defined by Tr(ax12(3α+1)), where a∈F3n∗ and (α,2n)=1. It is not known if these bent functions are weakly regular in general.

Bent functions have maximal minimum distance to the set of affine functions. In other words, they achieve the maximal minimum distance to all the coordinate functions of affine monomials. In this paper we introduce a new class of bent functions which we call hyper-bent functions.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Algebraic normal form of a bent function: properties and restrictions [PDF]
Maximally nonlinear Boolean functions in $n$ variables, where n is even, are called bent functions. There are several ways to represent Boolean functions. One of the most useful is via algebraic normal form (ANF).

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Composition construction of new bent functions from known dually isomorphic bent functions [PDF]
Bent functions are optimal combinatorial objects and have been studied over the last four decades. Secondary construction plays a central role in constructing bent functions since it may generate bent functions outside the primary classes of bent ...

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

On Binary Quadratic Symmetric Bent and Semi-Bent Functions
We give a new simple construction for known binary quadratic symmetric bent and almost bent functions. In particular, for even number of variables, they are self-dual and anti-self-dual quadratic bent functions, respectively, which are not of the Maiorana-McFarland type, but affine equivalent to it.
