A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Effect of Oxygen Content on Surface and Subsurface Integrity During Turning of Ti–6Al–4V

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how oxygen content in the ambient atmosphere affects the surface and subsurface properties of Ti–6Al–4V during turning. Results show that oxygen does not influence surface roughness. However, machining in an extremely high vacuum‐adequate atmosphere increases surface hardness by up to 7.8% and induces compressive residual stresses ...

When a Boolean Function can be Expressed as the Sum of two Bent Functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper we study the problem that when a Boolean function can be represented as the sum of two bent functions. This problem was recent-ly presented by N. Tokareva in studying the number of bent functions [20].

Cyclic Bent Functions and Their Applications in Sequences

open access: yes, 2021
Let m be an even positive integer. A Boolean bent function f on F2m-1 × F2is called a cyclic bent function if for any a neq b F2m-1 and F2,f(ax1,x2)+f(bx1,x2+) is always bent, where x1\inF2m}-1, x2 \in F2. Cyclic bent functions look extremely rare.

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Vectorial bent functions in odd characteristic and their components

open access: yes, 2020
Bent functions in odd characteristic can be either (weakly) regular or non-weakly regular. Furthermore one can distinguish between dual-bent functions, which are bent functions for which the dual is bent as well, and non-dual bent functions.

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

A study of differences between bent functions constructed using Rothaus method and randomly generated bent functions

open access: yes, 2003
Bent functions, having the highest possible nonlinearity, are among the best candidates for construction of S-boxes. One problem with bent functions is the fact that they are hard to find among randomly generated set of Boolean functions already for 6 ...

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.
