Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Bent functions

open access: yes, 2006
Bent functions have connections into various areas of mathematics and computer science which makes them an interesting object to study. This thesis is meant as a comprehensive study summarizing many of the results published in the last 40 years.

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Some results concerning generalized bent functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper we investigate the properties of generalized bent functions defined on Zn/2 with values in Zq wherre q>2 is any positive integer. We characterize the class of generalized bent functions symmetric with respect to two variables, provide an ...

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Decomposing generalized bent and hyperbent functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we introduce generalized hyperbent functions from F2n to Z2k, and investigate decompositions of generalized (hyper)bent functions. We show that generalized (hyper)bent functions from F2n to Z2k consist of components which are generalized ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

A Characterization of Binary Bent Functions

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1996
Bent functions are Boolean functions used in cryptography. They can be defined as those functions that reach the maximum Hamming distance to the set of all affine functions defined on \(V=GF(2)^n\). An alternative definition uses the property of a bent function \(f\) that the Fourier coefficients of \(F:x\mapsto (-1)^{f(x)}\) are \(\pm1\) only (or ...
