Ceria‐Based Catalysts for Sustainable Processing of Plastic Waste

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
The properties of CeO2‐based catalysts for facilitating the chemical recycling of plastic waste. New chemical recycling processes for mitigating plastic pollution are being developed every day. Plastic depolymerization is typically conducted under high temperatures and pressures in pyrolysis, hydrogenolysis, ammonolysis, and glycolysis processes, which

Electronic Smoking Devices Among University Students: Usage Patterns and Chemical Composition of Inhaled Substances

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 7, Issue 1, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigated the prevalence of electronic smoking device (ESD) use and its associated behavioural and chemical risks among university students in Bahia, Brazil. A cross‐sectional survey was conducted with 355 students from public and private institutions through an online questionnaire between April and May 2023. Among participants,

Synthesis of a C‐2 Functionalized l‐Iduronic Acid Derivative as a Candidate Pharmacological Chaperone for MPS II (Hunter Syndrome)

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 21, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
A C‐2 functionalized l‐iduronic acid derivative was designed and synthesized as a candidate pharmacological chaperone for iduronate‐2‐sulfatase (IDS), the enzyme involved in the lysosomal storage disease MPS II (Hunter syndrome). The synthesis overcomes significant synthetic challenges associated with manipulations of L‐ido scaffolds.

Phytochemical Profiling, Antiplatelet Potential, and Cytotoxic Assessment of Thymelaea tartonraira Aerial Part Essential Oil: In Vitro and In Silico Studies

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 6, June 2026.
Essential oil from Thymelaea tartonraira was characterized by GC–MS and evaluated using in vitro and in silico approaches. The oil exhibited notable antiplatelet activity with low cytotoxicity. Molecular docking revealed strong interactions of major compounds with GPVI, COX‐1, and P2Y12, supporting its potential as a natural antiplatelet agent ...

Electronic Effect of Artificial Second‐Sphere Amide Pendants Affects the Electrochemical Reduction of CO2 by Iron Porphyrins

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Amide pendants on FeTPP featuring electron‐withdrawing (─CF3) and electron‐donating (─CH3) groups slow or accelerate proton delivery to the Fe–CO2 intermediate by electronic effect on the iron center, shifting overpotential and tuning maximum turnover frequency (TOF) for CO2RR. ABSTRACT To design the molecular catalysts for the carbon dioxide reduction
