Durable Etched Silicon Powder‐Supported Palladium Catalyst for Continuous Flow Hydrogenation and Reductive Alkylation

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
Etched silicon powder‐supported Pd is developed as a durable and efficient catalyst for continuous flow hydrogenation and reductive alkylation. This study develops a novel heterogeneous palladium catalyst immobilized on etched silicon powder, demonstrating high efficiency and long‐term stability under continuous flow conditions.

Volcano‐like Activity Trends in Au@Pd Catalysts: The Role of Pd Loading and Nanoparticle Size

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
The catalytic activity of gold in benzyl alcohol oxidation is enhanced by adding palladium, as long as it remains on the surface in a core‐shell configuration. Palladium migration to the gold core (alloy formation) decreases activity, as shown by the volcano plot. Each gold core size requires a specific Pd amount for optimal activity.

Enhancing Near‐Infrared Two‐Photon Absorption of Aza‐Boron‐Dipyrromethene Compounds Through Intramolecular Charge Transfer Via Electron Donating Substitution

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
Aza‐BODIPY compounds is designed with 4‐methoxyphenyl, 2,4‐dimethoxyphenyl, and 4‐N,N‐diphenylaminophenyl groups at the 1 and 7 positions. The effects of substituents and solvent polarity (tetrahydrofuran and chloroform) on the linear absorption, fluorescence behaviors as well as nonlinear absorption properties are investigated.

Anthraquinone Sulfonates as Water‐Soluble Photocatalysts: Synthetic Applications and Perspectives

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
The development of photochemistry in water is rapidly advancing, and the demand for water‐soluble photocatalysts is increasing. Accordingly, anthraquinone sulfonates are interesting options for the activation of organic molecules through H‐atom transfer, proton‐coupled electron transfer, or the generation of reactive oxygen species.
