An Achiral Tetradentate Cis‐α‐Coordinating NCCN Ligand Gives Rise to a Configurationally Stable Chiral‐at‐Iron Complex for Enantioselective Catalysis

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 3, 16 January 2026.
The design and synthesis of a linear tetradentate NCCN ligand incorporating two 1,2,3‐triazolin‐5‐ylidene mesoionic carbene donors, and its application to asymmetric iron catalysis is reported. This work represents the first example of an iron complex derived from a cis‐α‐coordinating tetradentate NCCN ligand, and notably, the first chiral iron ...

Hoveyda–Grubbs 1st and 2nd Generation Precatalysts Modified in the Alkoxybenzylidene Part With Long (Fluorous) Chains: Catalytic Activity and Stability

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 2, January 16, 2026.
We synthesized a series of light to heavy fluorous Hoveyda–Grubbs precatalyst analogs modified in the alkoxybenzylidene part in positions 2 and 5 by long (fluorinated) ponytails and tested their activity in ring‐closing metathesis. The substitution mostly resulted in accelerated reaction but the precatalyst stability often decreased.

A sequential multi‐strain inoculation approach for designing functional Sicilian table olives

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 1, Page 516-528, 15 January 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND The exploitation of microbial strains with advanced technological traits is a pivotal step in enhancing the production of table olives and meeting consumers' demands. RESULTS Here, a multi‐step approach involving the sequential addition of a Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (namely C11C8) starter strain and a Lacticaseibacillus ...

Modulating Electronic Properties of N‐Heterocyclic Carbene Ligands: Effects on the Pd‐Catalyzed Buchwald–Hartwig Amination

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 2, January 12, 2026.
Pd complexes with electronically modified NHCs (NHC = N‐heterocyclic carbene) were analyzed in the Buchwald–Hartwig Amination under both strongly and weakly basic conditions. Investigations into the steric and electronic properties of the ligands are detailed.
