Tackling Orientational Isomerism in Metal–Organic Frameworks Comprising Low‐Symmetry Linker Molecules via Simulated Annealing Featuring a Neural Network Potential

open access: yesJournal of Computational Chemistry, Volume 47, Issue 9, April 5, 2026.
A robust and adaptable strategy for addressing orientational isomerism in metal–organic framework compounds with low‐symmetry linkers is presented, utilizing a combined neural network potential and simulated annealing approach. ABSTRACT The perplexing structural diversity of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) leads to astonishing unique properties and ...

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

Synthesis of p‐Coumarates With Potential Anti‐Alzheimer's Action: Enzyme Inhibition and In Silico Studies

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a fatal neurodegenerative disorder that affects cognition, memory, and behavior. Such a disease is considered the most common cause of dementia and affects a large portion of the elderly population worldwide. Currently, cholinesterase inhibitors are used to reduce the symptoms and rate of progression of this disease.

Synthetic Pathways Towards 1,3,4‐Tri‐ and Tetraphospholide Anions from White Phosphorus and Polyphosphides

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 4, April 2026.
Sodium polyphosphides derived from white phosphorus enable rational access to elusive aromatic 1,3,4‐triphospholide and 1,2,3,4‐tetraphospholide anions. Acyl‐based electrophiles steer the reactivity toward tetraphospholides, which serve as versatile ligands for the synthesis of new tetraphosphaferrocenes.

Integrated and closed‐loop biorefinery strategies for efficient waste valorization and biofuel production

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 4, Page 1656-1676, April 2026.
Abstract Advancements in biofuel production technologies are essential for reducing global dependence on fossil fuels and addressing their overexploitation. Many valuable components of biomass, such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, remain underused in traditional biorefineries, which typically rely on a single feedstock to produce a primary ...
