Benzodioxole‐1,3‐benzodioxole derivatives and their effects on the reproductive physiology of insects

Archives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology, 1994
AbstractAlkyl ethers of methylenedioxy analogs of obtusastyrene or benzyl‐1,3‐benzodioxole derivatives (BBDs) and related benzylphenols have been shown to interfere with various phases of reproduction in insects. BBDs have also been shown to interfere with sex attractancy, to induce precocious development, and to antagonize juvenile hormone (JH ...

Benzodioxole derivative as coinitiator for dental resin

Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, 2007
The aim of this work was to examine whether it was possible to substitute benzodioxole derivatives for amine as coinitiators for dental application.A mixture of urethane dimethacrylate (UDMA)/triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) (70/30 wt%), camphorquinone (CQ) and coinitiators was photocured.

Chromatography of 1,3-benzodioxole derivatives

Journal of Chromatography A, 1980
Abstract Study of the gas-liquid chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography of 2-alkyl- and 2,2-dialkyl-benzodioxoles and their ring-substituted derivatives gave exponential relationships between retention values and carbon chain length of the substituents.

Benzodioxole Derivatives as Negative Effectors of Plant Proteases

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2005
Previous work demonstrated that a commercial formulation of piperonyl butoxide (PBO) did inhibit the activity of some plant proteolytic enzymes. In this paper, the effect of pure PBO and nine pure PBO homologues (PBOH) appropriately synthesized toward bromelain and papain was studied in hydrocarbon solution using the bis(2-ethylhexyl)sodium ...

Experimental and Computational Thermochemistry of 1,3-Benzodioxole Derivatives

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2007
The standard (p° = 0.1 MPa) molar energies of combustion in oxygen, at T = 298.15 K, of four 1,3-benzodioxole derivatives (5-oxoethyl-1,3-benzodioxole, 5-cyano-1,3-benzodioxole, 5-nitro-1,3-benzodioxole, and 5-methyl-1,3- benzodioxole) were measured by static bomb calorimetry.

Synthesis and photopolymerization kinetics of 2-phenyl-benzodioxole

Photochemical & Photobiological Sciences, 2014
In this paper, a new photocoinitiator for free radical photopolymerization, belonging to the benzodioxole (BDO) derivatives, was synthesized and characterized, and the effect of phenyl at the 2-position of BDO was estimated. The structure of PhBDO was characterized by elemental analysis, (1)H NMR and (13)C NMR.

A new class of fluorescent dyes based on 1,3-benzodioxole and [1,3]-dioxolo[4.5-f]benzodioxole

Tetrahedron Letters, 2011
We report on synthesis and photophysical properties of a new class of fluorescent dyes. They are characterized by large Stokes-shifts, long fluorescence lifetimes in organic solvents and a pronounced dependency of the fluorescence lifetime on the solvent polarity. Also worthy of note is the high bleaching stability. To provide access to biochemical and

Synthesis and chemistry of flourinated benzodioxoles and -dioxens

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 1983
Abstract The synthesis of benzodioxoles and benzodioxens, which are flourinated (halogenated) in the bridge, will be described. The 1.3-benzodioxole I and 1.4-benzodioxens II are obtained from o-dihydroxybenzene and 4H-1.3-benzodioxens III is obtained from 2-methylphenylcarbonocholridic acid.
