Metabolism of benzoic acid by sheep
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1966AbstractExperiments have been made with two sheep to determine their ability to synthesise hippuric acid. The titratable acidity of diethyl ether extracts of acidified urine was expressed as g benzoic acid equivalent. One sheep on a dried grass ration and one on a hay and oats ration excreted in the urine 8·06 and 4·07 g benzoic acid equivalent/24 h ...

Determination of Benzoic Acid in Air
American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1984A gas chromatographic method is described for direct determination of free benzoic acid in air samples. Benzoic acid is absorbed from air on Porapak Q packing in the presence of other compounds, thermally desorbed at 240 degrees C with helium flow into a capillary column, and detected with a flame ionization detector.
