Thermally Bistable Stiff Stilbene Photoswitches and Polymer Applications
Thermally stable photoswitches offer new opportunities for controlling polymer structures and functions under nonequilibrium conditions. This Personal Account highlights stiff stilbene (SS) and sterically hindered stiff stilbene (HSS) photoswitches, which combine large structural changes with exceptional thermal bistability.

Synthesis and hypotensive activity of benzopyran derivatives.
A series of dihydrobenzopyranyloxypropanolamines and dihydrobenzopyranylethanolamines containing a nitroxy moiety was synthesized. The cardiovascular effects of these compounds were investigated in anesthetized dogs. Some of the compounds exhibited hypotensive activity in combination with β-adrenergic blocking and vasodilating action.
