Benzyl alcohol differently affects fluid phase endocytosis and exocytosis in renal epithelial cells
The effects of benzyl alcohol, a local anaesthetic commonly used for modification of membrane fluidity, on fluid phase endocytosis and on exocytosis have been investigated in MDCK cells. Fluid phase endocytosis in confluent cells monolayer grown on solid

Photogenerated Oxetanes as a Gateway to Uphill Cyclopropanation
An atom‐economical route to densely functionalized cyclopropanes from furans and photochemically activated aldehydes is enabled by a unique oxetane‐to‐cyclopropane rearrangement. These cyclopropanes can be used to access complex bioactive scaffolds and serve as a platform for asymmetric cyclopropane synthesis.

Solvent free benzyl alcohol oxidation by AuPd/TiO₂ catalysts [PDF]
The development of gold and palladium as heterogeneous catalyst is widely investigated for many oxidation process. In this respect, the main goal of the research is modification of Au-Pd catalyst to achieve highest potential to obtain more benzaldehyde ...

Kinetics of oxidation of benzyl alcohol with dilute nitric acid
The oxidation of benzyl alcohol by dilute nitric acid has been selected for the study as a typical method for the manufacture of industrially important intermediate benzaldehyde. All the reactions have been performed in the absence of any solvent.

Late‐Stage Functionalization of Peptides on the Solid Phase
Peptide modifications are essential to control pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties of peptide drugs. Consequently, strategies that allow for efficient and rapid incorporation of non‐canonical modifications into peptides in parallel formats are highly sought after.

Mechanisms of benzyl alcohol tolerance in Drosophila melanogaster [PDF]
textProper neuronal function requires the preservation of appropriate neural excitability. An adaptive increase in neural excitability after exposure to agents that depress neuronal signaling blunts the sedative drug effects upon subsequent drug exposure.

The first enantioselective alkynylations of aqueous fluoral are described. These processes are catalyzed by an iodide‐bound ruthenium‐(Ph‐BPE)‐catalyst; an octahedral metal complex that can exist as 12 diastereomeric‐at‐metal isomers. Calculations reveal that 2 of 12 stereoisomeric complexes account for 99.9% of the Boltzmann population and that ...
