Catalytic Functionalization of Unactivated π‐Bonds Enabled by Bidentate Directing Auxiliaries
This review explores how bidentate directing auxiliaries have advanced transition‐metal catalysis for unactivated alkene/alkyne functionalization. By leveraging chelated intermediates, bidentate directing auxiliaries enable precise hydrofunctionalization, difunctionalization, and C─H activation of π‐bonds with unique selectivity and reactivity.

Catalytic Enantioselective Intramolecular Aza‐Michael Addition to α,β‐Unsaturated Esters
A general method for accessing enantioenriched saturated N‐heterocycles via a catalytic enantioselective intramolecular aza‐Michael reaction to α,β‐unsaturated esters is described. A superbasic bifunctional iminophosphorane (BIMP) catalyst was key to enabling reactivity of the high pKa sulfonamide pronucleophile, whilst delivering good to excellent ...

Photooxidation of Benzyl Alcohols with Immobilized Flavins
Benzyl alcohols are oxidized cleanly and efficiently to the corresponding aldehydes under irradiation using flavin photocatalysts and aerial oxygen as the terminal oxidant in homogeneous aqueous solution. Turnover frequencies (TOF) of more than 800 h(-1)

Non‐Dilute Synthesis of Macrodiolides and Macrotetrolides Enabled by Confinement Catalysis
Confinement catalysis within a hexameric resorcin[4]arene capsule enables macrolactonization under non‐dilute conditions (up to 0.1 M), overcoming the limitations of high‐dilution protocols (0.1–10 mM). This strategy provides direct access to 18–32‐membered macrodiolides and 26–32‐membered macrotetrolides in one pot and unlocks previously inaccessible ...

The vibrational frequencies of “dangling” water O─H bonds can be determined by Raman hydration‐ shell spectroscopy and used to differentiate chaotropes from kosmotropes and hydrophobes. Dangling O─H bonds are also detected around superchaotropic anions of the borate cluster type (B12X122−; X = H, F, Cl, Br, and I) but their frequencies do not directly ...

Synthesis and fungicidal activity of some alkyl – 2,4 – dinitrobenzenesulfenate esters
2,4-dinitrobenzenesulfenyl chloride was prepared by reacting 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene with benzyl mercaptan and subsequently cracking the formed 2,4-dinitrophenyl benzyl sulphide with sulfuryl chloride.

Heterogeneous iron‐catalyzed environmentally benign and sustainable CH‐oxidative esterification methodology has been developed for the synthesis of esters. This challenging reaction has been achieved by the rational design of specific single atom iron‐based catalyst with Fe‐N4 active centers, which empowered the oxidative esterification of methyl and ...
