Nitro Reduction‐Based RNA Control and Ultrafast Release
Angewandte Chemie, EarlyView.A chemical RNA caging–uncaging strategy based on nitro reduction is described. Nitroaryl groups introduced via acylation temporarily block the functions of diverse RNAs in vitro and in living cells. Treatment with a diboronic acid–bipyridine mixture rapidly reduces the nitro groups, releasing RNAs and restoring their activity.

Benzylation of Benzene and Toluene with Benzyl Alcohol
Nippon kagaku zassi, 1967 ρ-トルエンスルホン酸の存在でベンジルアルコールによるペンゼンおよびトルエンのペンジル化について調べた。 反応中にトルエンスルホン酸ベンジルおよびジペンジルエーテルが生成している。未完結の反応物は蒸留時に突然反応し, ポリペンジルとρ-トルエンスルホン酸とを生成する。これはスルホン酸ベンジルの存在に起因する。反応中にできるエステルおよびエーテルもスルホン酸の存在でベンジル化を行なう。ペンジル化は水の存在によって阻害される。相対速度および異性体組成はガスクロマトグラフィーで測定された。競争実験による相対反応性紛kT/kBは4.2であり, フェニルトリルメタンの異性体組成はオルト体42.0%, メタ体6.5%, パラ体51.5%であった。これらの値は塩化ペンジル ...
