Sustainable Production of Benzylamines from Lignin

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2021
AbstractCatalytic conversion of lignin into heteroatom functionalized chemicals is of great importance to bring the biorefinery concept into reality. Herein, a new strategy was designed for direct transformation of lignin β‐O‐4 model compounds into benzylamines and phenols in moderate to excellent yields in the presence of organic amines.

Mass spectrometry of benzylamines and benzylamine derivatives

Organic Mass Spectrometry, 1972
AbstractThe mass spectra of benzylamine, N‐ethylbenzylamine, N,N‐dimethylbenzylamine, p‐methoxybenzylamine and 4‐hydroxy‐3‐methoxybenzylamine, and their acetamide and trimethyl‐ silyl (TMS) derivatives have been recorded. Low and high resolution spectroscopy were employed in conjunction with ion kinetic energy (IKE) determinations to establish the ...

Tautomerism in Salicylidene Benzylamine

Spectroscopy Letters, 1992
Abstract The UV spectra of substituted salicylidene benzylamine schiff bases were studied in four solvents. It was found that substituents which increase the electronic effect and not the steric compression effect in these compounds increase the percentage of the keto form. The intensity (i.e. % keto) of the keto band which occurs at > 400 nm in the UV

Oxidative deamination of benzylamine by glycoxidation

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 2003
In the present study, model reactions for the oxidative deamination by glycoxidation using benzylamine were undertaken to elucidate the detail of the reaction. Glucose, 3-deoxyglucosone (3-DG), and methylglyoxal (MG) oxidatively deaminated benzylamine to benzaldehyde in the presence of Cu(2+) at a physiological pH and temperature but not glyoxal.

The Catalytic Hydrogenolysis of Benzylamine Derivatives

Tetrahedron, 1973
Abstract The hydrogenolysis of optically active ethyl 2-amino-2-phenylpropionate ( I ), its N-methyl ( II ), and N,N-dimethyl ( III ) derivatives was studied using Raney Ni and Pd as the catalysts. The Raney Ni catalysed hydrogenolysis of II and III , as well as the reaction catalysed by Pd, occurred predominantly with inversion of configuration ...

Bindung ringsubstituierter Benzylamine an Lecithin

Reactions of Benzylamine with Sulfur

Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1971
A five-step sequence has been established for the room temperature reaction of sulfur with benzylamine. Benzylamine polysulfides and benzylidenimine polysulfides occur as interconverting intermediates in this system. The final products are benzylammonium polysulfides, ammonia, and N-benzylidene benzylamine.
