Globalizing Comparative Public Administration With Integrative Contextualization: State Autonomy in the Developmental Path of Hong Kong and Singapore

open access: yesPublic Administration and Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The lack of a common variable for comparison has been a major obstacle to the development of Comparative Public Administration (CPA). State autonomy enables an integrative contextualization approach, allowing both the analysis of contextual individual country experiences and the generation of generalized comparable knowledge.

Bernstein operators and finite exchangeability

open access: yes
We present a method for proving finite versions of De Finetti-type theorems for general measurable spaces (). Bernstein operators on the one dimensional simplex [0, 1] are generalized to Bernstein operators on limits of simplices, representing ...

Spiritual ecologies in transition: Bonbibi and the reconfiguration of people–nature relations in the Bangladeshi Sundarbans

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Local religious traditions serve as informal environmental institutions, characterized by socially embedded norms that guide behaviour without formal enforcement and influence human–environment interactions. This study investigates the role of Bonbibi worship as a system of moral regulation in the Bangladeshi Sundarbans and examines the ...

Approximation by bivariate Bernstein–Kantorovich–Stancu operators that reproduce exponential functions

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
In this study, we construct a Stancu-type generalization of bivariate Bernstein–Kantorovich operators that reproduce exponential functions. Then, we investigate some approximation results for these operators.

Abundance of atrazine degrading genes trzN versus atzA in soil cultures and in situ degradation rates

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Atrazine degradation in agricultural soils showed in situ half‐lives of 36–225 days. Field and laboratory results indicate active microbial hydrolysis driven mainly by trzN. Biphasic degradation sustains long‐term persistence, maintaining the potential for groundwater contamination despite reduced immediate leaching risk.

Approximation properties of two dimensional Bernstein-Stancu-Chlodowsky operators

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2013
In this paper, as a generalization of Bernstein-Stancu type operators of two variable, we introduce a new positive linear operator called Bernstein-Stancu-Chlodowsky on a triangular domain, with mobile boundaries, which extends to [0, ∞) × [0, ∞) as n → ∞

Pointwise simultaneous approximation by combinations of Bernstein operators

open access: yes, 2005
We prove in the present paper some new direct and inverse results on pointwise simultaneous approximation by combinations of Bernstein operators by using ωϕλ2r(f,t), where ωϕλ2r(f,t) is the Ditzian–Totik modulus of smoothness.

From Intention to Practice in Hotel Food Sustainability: A Behavioural Analysis in Central Portugal

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the commitment of hotel Food and Beverage (F&B) departments in Central Portugal to sustainable food practices from a behavioural perspective. We develop and test the Commitment Analysis of Sustainable Hotel Food Practices model, which integrates cognitive (knowledge), affective and attitudinal determinants and links them to

Bernstein-Schurer bivariate operators

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2004
The sequence of bivariate operators of Bernstein-Schurer is constructed and some approximation properties of this sequence are studied.

Faster approximation to multivariate functions by combined Bernstein-Taylor operators

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
In this article, we incorporate multivariate Taylor polynomials into the definition of the Bernstein operators to get a faster approximation to multivariate functions by these combined operators.
