Assessing the Influence of Occupancy Factors on Energy Performance in US Small Office Buildings

open access: yesEnergies
Office buildings are responsible for about 35% of the total electricity in the US and over 70% of building energy consumption occurs during occupancy periods. Therefore, understanding occupancy behavior is crucial for reducing building energy consumption.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Proteomic and lipidomic analysis of low-density lipoprotein identifies potential biomarkers of early estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer

open access: yesCancer & Metabolism
Estrogen receptor (ER)-positive breast cancer (BC) is a prevalent and fatal cancer among women, and there is a need to identify molecules involved in the disease pathophysiology which could also serve as biomarkers for early detection.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Fatty acid analysis identifies an aberrant circulating triglyceride composition in patients with hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis

open access: yesScientific Reports
Despite a correlative relationship between Hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis (HIAP) incidence and triglyceride (TG) levels, not all patients with very high TG levels in plasma develop HIAP, suggesting additional contributing factors.

The Synergy of Ventilation System Layouts and Occupant Arrangements on Ventilation Effectiveness: A Case Study in a Shared Office

open access: yesBuildings
The effectiveness of mixing ventilation for contaminant removal and maintaining indoor air quality remains an active topic of debate. In shared multi-person spaces, it is common for occupants to experience uneven exposure levels due to variations in ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.
