Chronic stress drives autophagy‐mediated β2‐AR degradation, impairing antiviral immunity and promoting poxvirus lethality. Lycorine directly stabilizes β2‐AR to restore host defense, suppress excessive inflammation and improve survival. ABSTRACT Psychological stress is a pervasive yet poorly understood modulator of infectious disease outcomes. Here, we

Arrestins are multifunctional proteins that regulate G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) desensitization, signaling, and internalization. The arrestin family consists of four subtypes: visual arrestin1, β-arrestin1, β-arrestin2, and visual arrestin-4 ...

Following a structure‐based design approach, photoswitchable derivatives of the FDA‐approved drug suvorexant were designed, docked, synthesized, and characterized pharmacologically at the orexin 1 and 2 receptors (OX1R and OX2R). Optimized “photorexant” showed up to an 11‐fold difference in IC50 between photoisomers, enabled dynamic and reversible ...

Amyloid β-protein (Aβ) is believed to contribute to the development of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Here we showed that Aβ25-35 rapidly caused activation of autophagy, subsequently leading to reduction of autophagy associated with cellular apoptosis ...

Abstract Background and objectives Initially described as a benign acute cardiomyopathy, Takotsubo syndrome has been linked to elevated mortality rates. Emerging evidence suggests that unresolved myocardial inflammation may contribute to this adverse prognosis.

Beta‐arrestin 2 negatively regulates sepsis‐induced inflammation
Summaryβ‐arrestins 1 and 2 are ubiquitously expressed proteins that alter signalling by G‐protein‐coupled receptors. β‐arrestin 2 plays an important role as a signalling adaptor and scaffold in regulating cellular inflammatory responses. We hypothesized that β‐arrestin 2 is a critical modulator of inflammatory response in experimental sepsis.

Abstract There is increasing concern regarding pollutants disrupting the vertebrate thyroid hormone (TH) system, which is crucial for development. Thus, identification of TH system–disrupting chemicals (THSDCs) is an important requirement in the Organisation for Economic Co‐operation and Development (OECD) testing framework.

ABSTRACT Somatostatin receptors (SSTR) mediate the antiproliferative, antisecretory, and proapoptotic effects of somatostatin and its synthetic analogs. Their surface expression on neuroendocrine tumor (NET) cells is required for somatostatin analog therapy and radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT).

The Endothelial CXCR Family in Vascular Health and Disease
ABSTRACT Endothelial cells (ECs) form the dynamic interface between blood and tissue, serving as key regulators of vascular homeostasis, inflammation, and repair. Among the molecular systems governing endothelial behavior, the C‐X‐C motif chemokine receptor (CXCR) family—originally characterized in immunology for its roles in leukocyte trafficking and ...
