Reversible inhibitors of .beta.-glucosidase
Biochemistry, 1985A variety of reversible inhibitors of sweet almond beta-glucosidase were examined. These included simple sugars and sugar derivatives, amines and phenols. With respect to the sugar inhibitors and, indeed, the various glycoside substrates, the enzyme has what can be considered a "relaxed specificity".

Mechanism of Agrobacterium .beta.-glucosidase: kinetic studies
Biochemistry, 1992The beta-glucosidase from Agrobacterium faecalis (previously Alcaligenes faecalis) has been subjected to a detailed kinetic investigation with a range of substrates to probe its specificity and mechanism. It has a relatively broad specificity for the substrate sugar moiety and exhibits a classical pH dependence for its kinetic parameters with three ...

Lysosomal beta-glucosidase of rat liver.
Enzyme, 1984Studies were undertaken to characterize the beta-glucosidase activity in freshly homogenized liver from Sprague-Dawley rats. About 95% of the total beta-glucosidase activity was associated with the particulate fraction, whereas only about 3-7% was found in the cytosol.

A clone coding for Schizophyllum commune beta-glucosidase: homology with a yeast beta-glucosidase.
Biochemistry international, 1986Three identical clones coding for a partial sequence of the Schizophyllum commune beta-glucosidase were isolated from a cDNA library in lambda gt11, using polyclonal antibody to the enzyme. The identity was confirmed by comparison of the amino-terminus of a peptide from a protease lys-C digest with the sequence inferred from the cDNA sequence.

Soluble and membranous neutral beta-glucosidases.
Progress in clinical and biological research, 1982Three distinct forms of beta-glucosidase were separated by Bio-Gel P-150 gel filtration from the 105,000 x g supernatant of liver, placenta and fibroblasts extracted in the presence of Cutscum and sodium taurocholate. Glucosylceramide beta-glucosidase was mostly particulate (more than 80%), had an apparent molecular weight of about 67,000 and exhibited
